Ares has successfully delivered the first West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) 135T crosshead component from Benalla to the WGTP site on Thursday 3 December.
The unique 12R8 trailer configuration was designed by Ares and our trailer partner Kennedy Trailers specifically for these components. The trailer loading was undertaken by LS Precast at their Benalla facility the day before. With the final lashing fastened and all safety checks complete, the delivery proceeded without any issues for our client CPBJH JV.
“It was exciting to see the first of these critical structures being delivered and installed after many months of planning. The Ares team were innovative, extremely professional and above all safely executed the task,” said CPBJH JV Logistics Manager, Tim Holmes.
WGTP is a multifaceted $5.5B Victorian State Government project designed to free up traffic and remove thousands of trucks from residential streets in Melbourne’s west.
